Create your virtual locks from ChatGPT or Claude

Lock Challenge has an official MCP server. Connect it once to ChatGPT, Claude or Claude Code, then describe the lock you want in a sentence: the assistant picks the lock type, sets the answer, writes the reveal, publishes the lock and gives you the link and the QR code to share, without leaving the conversation. It works with a free account.

In three messages

Make a lock for my class: how many countries are there in Africa? Something that feels like school.

Done: a number lock that opens with 54, a hint after two wrong tries, and a reveal that explains the answer. Here is the link to share and the QR code to print.

What your assistant can do

Create and publish a lock

Every lock format: number, word, directions, pattern, colours, music, switches, a grid, a map pin, a real GPS position, among others. The answer, the hint, your wrong-answer and nearly-right lines, and what appears when it opens.

Build a multi-step game

Locks played one after another, each reveal giving the clue for the next room: a treasure hunt, a classroom escape game, a team challenge.

Follow and change your locks

List your locks and games with their links, read how many people played and solved, find an answer again, test an answer without counting a play, and change a lock without changing its link.

Never delete by surprise

The assistant asks before deleting a lock, a game or a list, and only ever sees the locks of the account you connected.

Which account you need

Any Lock Challenge account, free included. A free account publishes basic locks: 3 locks of up to 3 steps each, every reveal, unlimited players, and they never expire. The rest follows your plan, as it does on the website: the look, the filmed object that opens on video and the celebration with an Event Pass or Pro, the timer, the leaderboard and the detailed statistics with Pro. If you ask for something your plan does not include, it tells you what was not applied.

How to connect it

Claude (claude.ai and the desktop app)

  1. Open Settings, then Connectors, and choose Add custom connector.
  2. Name it Lock Challenge and paste the server URL above.
  3. Click Connect: a Lock Challenge page opens. Sign in, or create a free account, and allow access.
  4. In a conversation, turn the connector on and ask for a lock.

ChatGPT

  1. Open Settings, then Apps and connectors. Under the advanced settings, turn developer mode on.
  2. Create a connector named Lock Challenge with the server URL above, and keep OAuth as the authentication.
  3. Sign in to Lock Challenge on the page that opens, and allow access.
  4. In a conversation, choose Lock Challenge among the apps and describe your lock.

Claude Code

  1. Run the command below in a terminal.
  2. Type /mcp, choose lockchallenge, then Authenticate: the sign-in page opens in your browser.
  3. Ask for a lock in plain words.
claude mcp add --transport http lockchallenge https://lockchallenge.com/api/chatgpt/mcp

The steps follow each assistant's own menus as they were in October 2026; their names can change. The server speaks the standard MCP protocol with OAuth 2.1 sign-in.

Your locks stay yours

  • You sign in on lockchallenge.com and choose what to allow: seeing your locks, and creating or changing them. The assistant never sees your password.
  • The assistant only acts on the locks of the account you connected, and asks before deleting anything.
  • Answers are checked on Lock Challenge's server, as they are for any lock: sharing the player link never gives the answer away.
  • Disconnect an assistant at any time from your profile, under Connected apps; it stops at once.

FAQ

Is it free?
Yes. The connector works with a free Lock Challenge account, which publishes 3 basic locks of up to 3 steps, with unlimited players. The Event Pass and Pro add the look and the filmed openings, and Pro adds the Pro settings too, from the assistant as from the website.
Which assistants are supported?
ChatGPT, Claude on the web and in the desktop app, and Claude Code. The server follows the standard MCP protocol with OAuth sign-in.
Do players need ChatGPT or an account?
No. The assistant only builds the lock. Players open its link or scan its QR code in any browser, with no account and no app.
Can the assistant add pictures?
Yes, as links to pictures that are already online; it does not upload files. To upload your own pictures, open the lock in your dashboard: the edit link comes back with every creation.
How do I disconnect it?
From your Lock Challenge profile, under Connected apps, click Disconnect. The assistant has to be connected again before it can act.
