Chain steps into one lock: up to 3 on the free plan, 10 with the Event Pass, no ceiling on Pro. Each step has its own question, hint, wrong-answer message and a line for an answer that was nearly right, and each solve opens the next clue.
Numeric, number, directional, touch pattern, written answer, username and password, colours, switches, ordered switches, a 4x4 grid, a real GPS position, a generated sudoku, a Wordle, and a musical lock that plays a melody to repeat or a tune to name. All free.
Publishing needs an account, which means your locks are not tied to one browser: open them from any device. Each lock can email you, or message you on Telegram, when someone opens it, free.
Players get the interface in English, French, Spanish, Catalan or Portuguese. With the Event Pass or Pro, a lock can open as one of 54 filmed objects, a treasure chest, a safe or a gift box among them, on video with sound, the reward inside.
Choose Escapify when you want no account and no cost at all: nobody signs up, teacher included. It also has lock kinds Lock Challenge does not offer, a rotary dial, wheels and levers and a mobile phone, accepts up to 4 alternative answers where a Lock Challenge written answer takes one, and says it uses no analytics or advertising tools. Note that its publisher is not identified on its legal pages: on 17 October 2026 they were still drafts with the controller's name left blank.
If nobody, teacher included, may create an account, or one lock must accept several different answers, Lock Challenge is the wrong choice: publishing needs an account, and a written-answer lock takes one answer, capitals and accents aside.
