The code is in the video

Four digits. They are on screen for two seconds, about halfway through.

Unlock to reveal the reward

Creators

Put your code behind a lock your audience has to watch for

Hide a discount code, a private link or a download behind a small lock, and scatter the answer through your video. People watch to the end because the end is where the number is. Free to build, no app for them to install, and you see how many actually got there.

How it works

1

Put the answer in the video

A number on a poster, a date said out loud, a word on screen for two seconds. Anything somebody has to actually watch to catch.

2

Lock what it unlocks

A discount code, a private link, a file, an unreleased track. The reveal is whatever you would otherwise have put in the description.

3

Put the link in the description

One link. People who watched get in; people who scrolled do not, which is the point.

Designed down to the last detail

Every pixel of the lock is yours to style.

Nothing on the screen is fixed. Pick from dozens of looks, choose the object that opens or upload your own pictures, set the typeface and size, and end on your own reveal. Your players see exactly the screen you designed.

Look

49 looks, solid colours and gradients. Each one repaints the whole page behind the lock.

Object

31 drawn objects, shut while the lock holds, open once it gives way.

Typeface and size

10 typefaces and 6 text sizes, from a phone in hand to a screen across the room.

Or your own two pictures

Upload a closed and an open picture: the parcel as wrapped, then what was inside. Included with the Event Pass and Pro.

7 looks and 13 drawn objects are free. The premium looks, the other objects, your own pictures, the animations, typefaces and text sizes come with the Event Pass or Pro.

A complete example: a discount worth watching for

This is the lock in the demo above. Copy it as it is, then change the number and the code.

Where the answer lives
On a poster behind you, on screen from 4:10 to 4:12. Never said out loud.
Question
Four digits. They are on screen for two seconds, about halfway through.
Lock format
Numeric, four digits.
Hint
Watch the poster on the wall behind me. It costs them a rewatch, which is what you wanted.
Reveal
A promo code, shown as a code rather than as a sentence, so it can be copied.
Harder version
Split the digits across two videos, and make the lock the last thing in the series.
What you see
How many opened the link and how many cracked it. The gap between the two is your watch-through.

Six drops that work

The discount drop

A code worth having, behind a number only viewers catch. The oldest one, and it still works.

The early link

The merch link goes live to the people who finished the video, an hour before anybody else.

The unreleased track

Lock a private listening link behind a lyric from the chorus.

The series finale

One digit per episode, five episodes, one lock. Nobody who joined at episode four gets in.

The community password

The Discord invite behind a question only somebody who watches would answer.

The giveaway

Cap it at the first hundred who crack it, and let the counter do the work.

Simple, honest pricing

Free, with unlimited attempts and unlimited players. Pro removes the Lock Challenge branding, caps how many people may win, and shows you who opened the link and who finished.

Creator questions

What is a locked drop?

A locked drop is a link whose content only appears once somebody answers a question. You hide a code, a download or a private link behind it, and put the answer somewhere in your video. The person opening it types the answer in their phone's browser, and what you hid appears.

Does it increase watch time?

It gives people a reason to watch to the end, and a reason to rewatch a section. What we can tell you for certain is the part we measure: how many opened the link and how many cracked it. The gap between those two numbers is people who wanted in and did not watch closely enough.

Do my viewers need an account?

No. They open the link, answer, and see the reveal. No sign-up, no app, nothing to install. You need an account to build it; they never do.

Can I limit how many people get the code?

Yes, on Pro. Set a maximum number of successful unlocks and the first hundred people to crack it get the reward; everybody after that sees a sold-out screen instead of the keypad. Everyone can still play.

Can I put it behind a QR code?

Yes. Every lock comes with a QR code, so it works on a thumbnail, on a printed card in a parcel, or on screen at the end of the video.

What can the reveal be?

Text, a link, an image, a promo code or a button on the free plan. An Event Pass or Pro adds files, audio, video and several items in one reveal, so a drop can be a track, a PDF and a link at once.

Give them a reason to watch it twice

Build the lock, put the answer in the video, and put the link in the description. It takes about three minutes and costs nothing.
