Quick treasure lock

What holds a ship still when the sails are down?

Unlock to reveal the reward

Treasure hunt

A treasure hunt that keeps score, without printing a thing

Clues in the real world, answers on a phone. Each correct answer opens the next clue, the trail remembers where everybody is, and the last lock opens the chest. Free for a short hunt, and the map does not blow away.

How it works

1

Write the clues

One per place. The answer is something they can only know by standing there: a number on a plaque, a colour, a count of steps.

2

Chain them

Each reveal is the next clue. Nobody can skip ahead, and nobody can lose the piece of paper.

3

Hide the last one

The final lock opens the chest, the location, the prize or the photo of where it is buried.

Designed down to the last detail

Every pixel of the lock is yours to style.

Nothing on the screen is fixed. Pick from dozens of looks, choose the object that opens or upload your own pictures, set the typeface and size, and end on your own reveal. Your players see exactly the screen you designed.

Look

49 looks, solid colours and gradients. Each one repaints the whole page behind the lock.

Object

31 drawn objects, shut while the lock holds, open once it gives way.

Typeface and size

10 typefaces and 6 text sizes, from a phone in hand to a screen across the room.

Or your own two pictures

Upload a closed and an open picture: the parcel as wrapped, then what was inside. Included with the Event Pass and Pro.

7 looks and 13 drawn objects are free. The premium looks, the other objects, your own pictures, the animations, typefaces and text sizes come with the Event Pass or Pro.

Two hunts: the quick one and the long one

Start with the first. The second is what the first becomes once you have run one and want more.

Quick treasure lock
One lock. Clues collected in the garden or the street, one final code, the chest opens. Free, about ten minutes to build.
The lost map
Six locks across six places, the map revealed a piece at a time, a clock on the whole thing and a ranking at the end.
The answers
A number on a plaque, the colour of a door, how many steps to the fountain. Never something they could guess from a sofa.
QR codes
Printed and taped at each place, so arriving IS the clue.
Teams
One shared link is enough: each phone keeps its own progress, so two teams never see where the other one is.
The end
Coordinates, a photograph of the hiding place, or simply 'look under the bench you are sitting on'.

Six hunts to steal

The garden hunt

Four clues, one afternoon, a chocolate chest. The one to start with.

The pirate map

A torn map revealed a piece at a time, one piece per lock.

The urban hunt

Six streets, six plaques, six numbers. The city is the board.

The museum trail

One question per room, answerable only by looking at the thing.

The birthday trail

Clues around the house, ending at the present.

The team race

Two teams, two links, one clock, one ranking at the end.

Simple, honest pricing

A short hunt is free. Pro adds the clock, the ranking and the printable pack with every QR code on one sheet. On every plan, each phone keeps its own progress, so one shared link is enough for several teams.

Treasure hunt questions

How does a digital treasure hunt work?

Each place in the real world has a clue. The answer is something only visible from there. Typing it on a phone opens the next clue, and the last one opens the treasure. No paper to lose, and nobody can skip ahead.

Do I have to print anything?

No, but a printed QR code at each place is the nicest version: arriving is what gets you the clue. Pro puts every code on one printable sheet.

Can two teams race?

Yes. Each phone keeps its own progress, so two teams can play the same link without seeing where the other one is. On Pro the finishing times go on a ranking.

Does it work outdoors with no signal?

It needs a connection to check an answer, because the answer is checked on our side rather than in the phone. In a dead spot, players can answer when they next have signal.

Can the last clue be a location?

Yes. The reveal can be a map link, coordinates, a photograph of the hiding place, or just a sentence. A GPS lock, free on every plan, can also open only when the player is physically there.

How long does a hunt take to build?

A one-lock hunt is about ten minutes. A six-stop trail with printed codes is an evening, and you can run it again next year by changing the answers.

The map that cannot blow away

Start with one lock and one clue. If it works, the trail is the same thing five more times.
