QR code treasure hunt
A free QR code treasure hunt in three stops: a trick question about the calendar, the only word spelled wrong in every dictionary, and a runner who overtakes second place. Each lock opens on where the next hiding place is, from the doormat to the fridge to the sofa. About ten minutes, played on a phone, and you can try it right now. The template is free: it publishes as it is on the free plan, players open a link without signing up, and the hunt never expires.

Questions about this template
- How do I put a QR code at each stop?
- Players can scan one QR code to start: the game's link plays the three stops in order on one phone, and each reveal says where to go next. If you want a code waiting at every hiding place, each step of a game also has its own link and QR code, under Edit next to the step on your dashboard: print the second and third and hide them where the reveals send players.
- Can I change the hiding places and the riddles?
- Yes. The doormat, the fridge and the sofa are plain text in each reveal, so rename them after real places in your home, garden or classroom. The riddles, hints and wrong-answer lines are yours to rewrite too, and a printed QR code keeps working after you edit the lock.
- Is this QR code treasure hunt free?
- Yes. It is a basic lock of three steps, the free plan's limit, with a hint and your own wrong-answer line on each, and no theme or animation. A free account publishes it exactly as it is, players need no app and no account, and it never expires.
- Is this template free?
- Yes. Playing it, copying it and publishing it cost nothing, and a free lock never expires.
- Can I change the answers and the texts?
- Yes. Every code, clue, hint and piece of locked content opens in the builder, and nothing is saved until you publish.
- What do players need?
- A phone or a computer with a browser. They open your link or scan your QR code, and never create an account.
- How long does it take to play?
- About 10 minutes, from the first lock to the locked content.
