"Will you marry me" in number code
Turn the question into numbers, or hide it behind a code only your partner can find. Set the code, write the clue, and try the lock yourself before they do.
1. Pick a lock format
2. Set the answer
Enter it once on the pad, the way a player would.
Answer set: not yet
3. Try it as a player
Set an answer first.
Our first date, as four digits: day then month.
4. What players read, and the hint
The same two fields the builder asks for. The question is the clue; the hint is what saves a player who is stuck.
Opens the builder on this exact lock: format, answer, question, hint and reveal already in place. You get a link and a QR code; players need no account.

Any other word or date works the same way: the lock code generator turns it into codes, and the cipher maker writes it in Morse, Caesar or Atbash.
Better than a code on a card: a lock
A code written on a card says the question to whoever decodes it first. A lock keeps it until the right person opens it. Your partner gets a link or scans a QR code, reads a clue only they can answer, types the code, and the question appears, with confetti, a picture of the two of you, or a song. Try it above: the reward is already set to the question.
The marriage proposal reveal page shows ideas for the code and the moment, and the proposal template sets up the whole lock with a ring box that opens.

Frequently asked questions
- What is "will you marry me" in numbers?
- In A1Z26, where each letter is its position in the alphabet: 23-9-12-12 25-15-21 13-1-18-18-25 13-5. On a phone keypad: 9455 968 62779 63.
- What code should open a proposal lock?
- One your partner can find and nobody else can: the date you met, the number of your first flat, the year of a trip, a word from an old joke. Say in the question which format you used, day then month for instance, so a right answer is not refused for its order.
- Can I add a photo or a song to the proposal?
- Yes. The reveal can be a message, a picture, a link or a video. Pictures, links and richer reveals come with the Event Pass or Pro; the message itself is free.
- Will anyone else see the question?
- Only someone who opens the lock. The link is not listed anywhere, search engines are told not to index it, and the answer is never sent to the player's browser.
