Questions

How does an online escape room work with these templates?
Each template is a chain of locks. Players open a link, read the first riddle, type the code, and the next lock appears, until the last one reveals the treasure: a message, a photo, a video, a file or the next clue of a real-world hunt. Nothing to install, and no account for the players.
Can I use them for a real treasure hunt, outdoors or in a building?
Yes. Put a QR code at each station that opens the lock for that station, or use the GPS trail template, whose locks only open when a player's phone is actually standing where you said. The reveal of each lock can be the hint for where the next one is hidden.
How long does it take to make my own escape room from a template?
About twenty minutes. Copy the template, rewrite the riddles and codes to your place and your players, swap the reward, and publish. The structure, the hints and the wrong-answer messages are already there.
